Free browser video tool
Turn a video into a GIF
Pick a moment, make it loop. Trim a local video, set the size and preview the actual GIF before you download.
No signup or upload. Your video stays on this device. Up to 50 MiB, 4K and 10 minutes; GIF clips up to 10 seconds and 10 MiB. GIFs have no sound.
1. Choose and trim a video
Use a short H.264 MP4 or VP8 WebM for the widest compatibility. MOV/HEVC support depends on your browser and the encoder.
2. Preview and download
Your animated GIF and its actual size will appear here. The encoder loads only when you create a GIF. If your device runs low on memory, reduce the width, duration or frame rate.
Want to animate a portrait first? Make a talking video in Puppetry. Your local video is not transferred.
Smaller GIFs, fewer surprises
Start with 320 pixels and 10 fps. Shorter clips and fewer frames usually give smaller files. The tool preserves aspect ratio and never enlarges your video. GIF timing is measured from the output file; rounding to whole frames can slightly change the duration.
Files are processed locally, not uploaded. The encoder downloads when needed; that requires a connection. Analytics contain only the tool and output type, never video content or source filenames. Nothing is sent to Studio automatically.
GIFs loop without audio. To share a longer clip with sound, keep the original video. Cancellation frees the encoder; if your browser runs out of memory, close other tabs and retry with a smaller clip.
