Image conversion questions
How do I convert PNG to JPG or WebP?
Choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP file, select the output format and click Convert image. For JPG, choose a background for transparent areas first. Check the preview, dimensions and actual file size before downloading.
Will my image keep its transparent background?
PNG and WebP preserve transparency. JPG does not support transparency, so you must choose white, black or a custom background color. Converting an already opaque JPG to PNG will not remove its background.
Will conversion reduce the file size or improve quality?
Not necessarily. PNG uses lossless encoding and can be larger than the original. JPG and WebP use adjustable quality. Converting a previously compressed photo cannot recover lost detail. For a specific KB limit, use the image compressor.
Are my photos uploaded or stored?
No. Image processing and download happen on your device. Tool analytics include only the tool and output type, never image pixels or source filenames. The Studio link does not transfer your image.
Can I convert animated images, HEIC, GIF or SVG?
No. This converter accepts still JPG, PNG and WebP files. Animated PNG and WebP are rejected, not silently reduced to their first frame. GIF, HEIC and SVG are also unsupported. If your browser cannot export a chosen format, the tool shows an error instead of downloading a different format.
Does conversion keep dimensions, colors and metadata?
It keeps the dimensions displayed by your browser, without cropping or resizing. Browser decoding applies supported image orientation. Re-encoding removes original metadata and may change colors; it is not an archival, color-managed or lossless source-file copy.
