In what many experts call a bold, unprecedented move, Grammarly has officially rebranded itself as Superhuman. Moreover, it introduced a new AI assistant called Superhuman Go.

The change reflects a strategic pivot from a writing tool brand to a full-fledged AI productivity platform (like the FDA’s Elsa).

Superhuman now encompasses the former Grammarly writing assistant and the Coda collaborative workspace tool. It also includes the email client Superhuman Mail.

Its AI agent, Superhuman Go works across over a hundred applications, including leading platforms like Gmail, Google Docs, Slack, and Outlook.

Superhuman Go aims to proactively support users with tasks such as summarizing email threads and drafting replies in personalized tone (like customizing video email marketing). It can even suggest calendar meetings and retrieve relevant contexts from past documents.

Grammarly executives say Superhuman aims to close the “productivity gap.” It’s the difference between what AI tools promise and what they actually deliver in real-world workflows.

Superhuman argues that AI should adapt to how users already work, NOT in forcing users to adapt to tools and technologies.

Existing Grammarly users can still rely on the platform’s writing assistant feature. However, this tool now sits within a broader ecosystem under the Superhuman banner.

Paid subscribers will enjoy Superhuman’s advanced features immediately. The company says it’s free to use among its paying customers until the 1st of February 2026.

While experts welcome the expansion, some industry watchers have misgivings about its new name. Some also question Superhuman’s broad ambition, which, they claim, might dilute the clarity of what users originally signed up for.

The rebrand repositions Superhuman to compete in a very competitive field of AI-driven productivity tools. Pundits say Superhuman Go will go head-to-head against Google Duet and Microsoft Copilot.

Superhuman brings writing help, email, documents, task-flows, and other productivity tools under one roof.
